It's the beginning of the month again, and that means a new logo on my Archives page ! I took the picture AND superimposed the Lapras on it. :-p

"How to Use Seer"
Article #138.

** Advantage of Seer . You get to take as many Basic Energy cards as there are in the top 6 cards of your deck! :-p This can produce a variety of effects, including everything from no energy to all 6! Of course, this card is very useful in some decks, and near useless in others. (This was yet another attempt to get Basic Energy decks back into competition.) So, they're trying to encourage lots of Basic Energy with this card. If your deck has 20 Basic Energy, you'll probably get 2 by using this card. If you're running 15, you'll probably get 1 or 2. Less than 15, usually 1. Over 20, usually 2 or more. So, I'll just take 2 as the standard number to go off of for the sake of this article. Not having Energy is one of the greatest problems in this game, and usually when this happens, your opponent can get a number of Prizes before you're able to recover. Even one Energy can make the difference, and this card can help you to get that Energy. (And, if you happen to get a lot of Energy with this... O:-)) Also, this card allows you to shuffle your deck, which can help many times. Finally, the artwork is cool too... :-p
** Disadvantage of Seer . There are 2 disadvantages, one larger than the other. First, the minor one, you have to show your opponent those Energy that you bring back. That's not really too much of a problem, simply because you'll probably be attaching those Energy anyway! Here's the big problem... Seer is a Supporter... =\ You won't be able to use Copycat or Prof. Oak's Research that same turn, and also, you might not want to use those cards the next turn either, in that you could possibly have a surplus of Energy in your hand, and are afraid to risk losing them.
COMBO CARDS :
~Base Blastoise. Find Water Energy, Rain Dance them! Not much more explanation needed. ;)
~Neo1 Gatr. Find Water Energy, Downpour them! Not much more explanation needed here either. ;)
~Exp Venusaur. Since you can attach more than 1 Energy in a turn, you might benefit more by having more than 1 Energy in your hand! :-p
RATINGS :
Standard . Basic Energy aren't used all too much in this format, and even if they are, there are much quicker cards such as Oak that can get you a new hand, most likely having those Energy anyway. 3.5 /10.
Modified . The fact that this is a Supporter really can hurt you. You can do a lot more simply by using a Copycat. Even though Seer is not bad in itself, it's the comparison to other cards that brings it down. 5.5 /10.
TRIVIA answer from Misty's Gyarados .
M's Gyarados is card 13 in Gym2!
TRIVIA for Seer .
At the time of you playing Seer, there are 40 cards in your deck. Overall, your deck is running 20 Basic Energy. First figure out how many of those 20 are probably in your deck. Then, figure out how many you'll probably get using a Seer.
