"How to Use Mr. Mime (E2)"
Article #132.

Ooooooh, shiny... ;) I haven't done a common in a little while, so I may as well do one now...

**50 HP. Gold Berry probably won't work, even WITH the assistance of the Poke-Body. So, you either should use Berry or Focus Band. I would stay away from using Healing Field, as Mind Shock only deals 20 damage. Not much else to say.

**Bottom Stats. Psychic Weakness. Now, on the original Mr. Mime, from Jungle, the Weakness is a good thing. But here, the Poke-Body isn't the same. This one only reduces damage, so you're not safe from Psychic Pokemon, especially due to the low HP. Once AGAIN, I picked a card with no Resistance, so I move on to Retreat. Mr. Mime only has to pay (*) to Retreat, which is a good thing. BUT, this isn't really a card you'd necessarily want to save for later in the game, so I'd just as soon say to play it until it gets KO'd.

**Poke-Body: Energy Barrier. Now this would be a fun Poke-Body if only the limit weren't 20 damage. =\ Most of the time, it'll be just as if you have a Defender (you older players remember them, right? ;)) attached at all times. Of course, if you have no basic Energy on you, this ability doesn't exist. There is no point in having over two basic Energy attached, simply because of the limit. This Poke-Body allows for you to live a bit longer in battle, in that damage from a non-Psychic Pokemon would have to be a base of 70 to get a single-hit KO, while a Psychic Pokemon would only need base damage of 40. (This is all assuming you've got your two Energy attached.)

** (P)(*) Mind Shock  20. The not applying Resistance is a good thing, but the not applying Weakness isn't. -_- Regardless, it's saying unless Darkness or Metal Energy, or other effects of attacks, etc. apply, it'll deal 20. That's not bad for (P)(*). It's a nice way to begin a game, but definitely not something to use while into the game. This Attack Cost aligns perfectly with the Poke-Body's limit of two basic Energy, so you'll end up dealing a straight 20 and reducing all intake by 20. Even though this isn't up to what the Jungle Mime's Pokemon Power is, it's pretty cool for a common.

COMBO CARDS:

I amazingly can't think of anything, other than more damage-reducing Trainers, including Defender. Just use whatever would fit into your deck best.

RATINGS:
Standard. The Jungle one owns this Aquapolis version, so if you're looking for an early-game Power and cheap attacking, that's your Mime. ;-) This isn't really that bad though. Just don't use it mid-game. >_< 4/10.
Modified. This is one of those cards that you just look at, pass by it, look at it again, and realize that it's more than you first saw. This is not only a different way to start the game, but also a very good card for people that can't come across Cleffas and so on. 6/10.

TRIVIA answer from Arbok.
Kyoto Umemoto drew the Arbok illustration.

TRIVIA for Mr. Mime.
Your Mr. Mime has 0 damage on it. It has 2 Psychic and 2 Metals attached.
Your opponent's Neo1 Sneasel has 2 Darkness attached to it. Your opponent flips 5 heads using Beat Up. There is an Unown D in play.
If you can figure it out, how much damage would be dealt to Mr. Mime?

Thanks for reading!
*Hmm, what plug should I use today... I know!* If you EVER need a scan of ANY card Base-Neo4 and Aquapolis, and Promos, we've got a near totally complete archive of them located at www.pokeschool.com/tcg/scans/
